ELIMINATE YOUR SPECTACLES
What is refractive surgery?
It is a specialized field within the eye surgery to reduce or eliminate both nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism.
I want to remove my glasses and contact lenses, which technique is the best?
This depends on many factors that must be studied in an ophthalmologic. examination. Among them is the age, corneal thickness and quality of the cornea, the existence of other concomitant diseases, such as cataracts, glaucoma, presbyopia ... The patient should always be previously examined by an ophthalmologist , which explains the different options best in your case.
What techniques are available?
There are many varieties, but the most common are: Excimer laser and lens surgery with multifocal lens PRELEX.
What is the laser technology?
With reference to the Excimer Laser LASIK technology we perform a corneal flap by about 100 microns, below we use this laser which corrects the refractive error, then the corneal flap is placed in its original position.
And the PRELEX technique with multifocal lens?
The new design bifocal lens is the only multifocal with HD Vision. Their design allows a smooth transition between the zone of distance vision and near vision zone. It allows in most cases a good distance vision, intermediate vision and near , and minimizing to almost disappear the phenomena of "glare" (visual nocturnal light wreaths) and Dysphotopsia (sense of fog, etc.) where you can do without the glasses almost always. It is ideal for patients with presbyopia or cataracts.
NEARSIGHTEDNESS, FARSIGHTEDNESS AND ASTIGMATISM
What is myopia?
Myopia is a refractive error, which is why the person is not able to focus distant objects because the eye is "longer" than normal. Sometimes this causes headaches and eye discomfort. It can be inherited from parent to child, so it is important to bring the children before the age of three years to an ophthalmologist, in order to develop their full visual potential. It is corrected with glasses, contact lenses, intraocular lenses or laser techniques such as LASIK LASIK or PRK.
What is farsightedness?
It is the difficulty to focus of nearby objects, as opposed to myopia. The reason is because the eye is shorter than normal. Children often compensate hyperopia with the phenomenon of "accomodation", so they often have a headache and irritation of the eyes from the effort on cost. They can also be treated with eyeglasses, PRELEX intraocular lenses or laser techniques for refractive surgery.
What is astigmatism?
Astigmatism is a problem of vision because the cornea is not symmetrical in its curvature. This leads to poor vision at any distance. It can also be corrected with glasses, through PRELEX toric lenses or laser .
LASER SURGERY: LASIK
What is refractive laser surgery -LASIK?
Is it always the ideal technique?
This depends on the preoperative evaluationof patients: age, lack of eye diseases, appropriate corneal thickness normal topography ... Depending on various factors, we choose this technique or the implantation of an intraocular lens.
What technologies do we have?
We are specialists in correcting vision problems using the laser. We are at the forefront of laser surgery for interventions for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. We have the latest technology available to our patients.
PRELEX TECHNIQUE
What are this lenses PRELEX for?
What are this lenses PRELEX for??
The new bifocal lens is the only multifocal with a design that allows a smooth transition between the zone of distance vision and near vision zone.
And if I have astigmatism, it can also be corrected?
Now there is no limit for the correction of astigmatism, therefore it is possible to correct each patient with different refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.
What if I have cataract?
Cataract patients with any degree of evolution can also benefit from this technique. Likewise, patients without cataracts because after PRELEX – Premium they do not need an intervention for cataracts in the future.
What if I have presbyopia?
It is an ideal choice if you have presbyopia because multifocal lens is designed to see at any distance.
How I can know if it is a suitable technique for me?
Responding to these questions:
• If you have difficulty reading, or seeing everything near and far?
• Do you have difficulty seeing while driving?
• Do not use bifocal or progressive lenses?
• Do you need to frequently change the strength of the glasses?
• Do the glasses disturb you in your daily activities?
If you have answered yes to any of the above questions, you might have presbyopia, cataract, or both, this also means that your vision affects your quality of life and may need a solution like the PRELEX-PREMIUM.
